David Smith Sr.
David Peter Smith Sr., age 72, of Celina, died on Sunday June 17, 2018 at Community Hospital in Coldwater.
He was born March 3, 1946 in Columbus to the late Lawrence Robert & Mary Ellen (Stout) Smith. He was married to Betty Joyce (Yager) Smith for almost 50 years.
He is survived by his children and grandchildren: David Peter Smith Jr. of Sidney, Ronald Paul (Amy Sue) Smith, their children McKenzie and Kameron of Bellefontaine, Michael Patrick Smith of Celina, Mary Margaret (John Eugene) Goodwin of Sidney and James Robert Smith Sr. (Chrissie Schroeder), his son James Robert Smith Jr. and her children Josiah, Merissa & Brianna of Wapakoneta.
David worked as a maintenance mechanic for 50 years at the former Goodyear plant in St. Marys. He attended many training schools. He was an avid target shooter and fisherman. In his younger years David enjoyed cross country motorcycle racing.
No services are planned. Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Coldwater has been entrusted with the arrangements.
