ROCKFORD - One of four Parkway employees recently laid off was given back her job on Tuesday while the other three were denied return by board members.
The four, elementary school teacher Tara Baltzell, middle school teacher Jennifer Smith, high school teacher Jessica Rolfes and media specialist Abbie Hathaway, had lost their jobs in response to the district's deficit spending, treasurer Debbie Pierce said. [More]

MINSTER - Village council members on Tuesday unanimously passed a resolution to place a 3-mill, three-year fire/EMS levy on the Nov. 6 election ballot.
Members after some discussion agreed to use the ballot language recommended by the legal firm hired to draw up the legislation. Village solicitor James Hearn also recommended the language. [More]
