Doris Freeman
Doris J. Freeman, age 85, of Antwerp, a former resident of Celina, passed away Monday, June 10, 2019, at Hickory Creek Healthcare in Hicksville.
She was born July 30, 1933, in Lima, to the late Mitchell L. & Eunice (Miller) Dyer. Her husband, Alvin Dale Freeman, preceded her in death on March 13, 1984.
Doris is survived by her daughter and son: Deb (Rex) Gloor and Terry (Deb) Freeman of Hicksville, five grandchildren: Jenna (Larry) DuBose, Nichole (Mike) Gerhardt, Sara Gloor (Rachel Stollman), Erin (Justin) Roush, and Megan (Jhirmichael) Cooper, and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Yahl.
Doris had worked as a cook at Vagabond Village, Yoder's Restaurant, and Hickory Hills Golf Course, all in the Hicksville area. She was an avid gardener, and an excellent cook and seamstress. Doris served as an advisor for the Green Valley 4-H Club for several years.
Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 Noon, Saturday, June 15, at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home in Celina. Burial will follow at Swamp College Cemetery, Celina.
Calling Hours are prior to services on Saturday, from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 Noon, at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home, Celina.
