Donald Beckstedt
Donald Lee Beckstedt, age 85 of Celina, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, September 5, 2019 at Briarwood Village Assisted Living Facility, in Coldwater.
He was born on March 3, 1934 in Celina, Ohio to the late Leo and Mary (Clifford) Beckstedt. On April 27, 1957 he married Lucy Victoria Muhlenkamp, who is living in Coldwater.
Donald is also survived by his children: Anthony Beckstedt of Celina, Terrence Beckstedt of Columbus, Victoria (Mike) Bruns of Rockford, Thomas (Cathy) Beckstedt of Ashville, Mike Beckstedt of Celina, 5 grandchildren Erica (Brian) Vorst, Brian (Leah) Bruns, Nicholas Bruns, Misty Bates, Tony (Brittney Cron) Beckstedt, 6 great grandchildren and his brother James Beckstedt of Virginia Beach, VA.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents and two infant daughters Theresa Beckstedt, Jane Beckstedt and his sister-in-law Judy Beckstedt.
He graduated from Immaculate Conception Catholic High School with the Class of 1952. Then Donald served his country in the United States Marine Corps until 1955. He retired from the Celina Post office as a postal carrier in 1989.
He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Celina and a member of the Mercer County Sportsmen Association. He enjoyed hunting and shooting Trap and Skeet.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Celina, with Fr. Kenneth Schnipke C.PP.S. officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Marys Catholic Cemetery in Celina, with Military Honors.
Friends may call from 2-7 p.m. on Monday, September 9, 2019 and from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the Lehman-Dzendzel Funeral Home in Celina.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church Endowment Fund.
