Coldwater man, 50, dies in motorcycle accident

From staff reports
MONTEZUMA - A Coldwater man was pronounced dead after a motorcycle accident on Tuesday night.
The Mercer County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call at approximately 10:56 p.m. Tuesday reporting a motorcycle crash on State Route 219, just west of State Route 703 in Montezuma, according to an office news release.
An investigation found Eric P. Franck, 50, 713 Lilac Drive, Coldwater, was traveling westbound on State Route 219, the release stated. Franck, who was not wearing a helmet, had reportedly entered a small curve and lost control of his 1994 Harley-Davidson motorcycle, which then traveled off the north side of the roadway and ejected Franck.
Franck was transported from the scene to Mercer County Community Hospital, Coldwater, where he was pronounced dead a short time later, according to the release.
Deputies were assisted at the scene by members of the Coldwater Emergency Medical Services and Montezuma Fire Department. The crash remains under investigation.
The incident was the second fatal traffic accident of the year in Mercer County.
