* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 12:40 PM EDT Sunday the stage was 13.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 13.0 feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage just after midnight tonight. - Flood stage is 13.0 feet.

Virginia Maharg
Virginia Ella (Chappell) Maharg, age 93, of Celina passed away on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 in her home.
She was born on March 14, 1927 to the late Charles and Hilda (Miller) Chappell in Belmont County. On May 22, 1948, she married Donald E. Maharg who passed away on October 5, 2017.
She is survived by her children Donald Maharg Jr. of Celina, Brenda Stammen of Celina, Barbara (William) Stallings of Burlington, KY, Richard (Tina) Maharg of Celina, Michael Maharg of Celina, Dorothy (Art) Buschur of Pennville, IN, son-in-law Paul Leuven of Auburn, IN, twelve grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, many step-grandchildren, many step great-grandchildren, two brothers and sisters-in-law Hubert (Shirley) Chappell, George (Arlene) Chappell both of Barnesville, sister Clara (Chuck) Seels of Elyria, and sisters-in-law Helen Chappell of Oberlin and Judy Chappell of St. Clairsville.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Patricia Van Leuven, son James Maharg, son-in-law James Stammen, brothers Bernard Chappell, Frank Chappell, sisters and brothers-in-law Mary (Johnny) Carpenter, Ruth (Art) Beyer, Dorothy Chappell, and Nina Pauline Chappell.
Virginia graduated from Summerton High School with the class of 1946. She was a member of Beaver Chapel Congregational Christian Church in Celina. After marrying Donald in 1948, they settled in Mercer County to raise their family. She loved gardening and raising flowers and enjoyed traveling to visit family with her husband.
Private family services will be on Saturday, December 19, 2020 at the Lehman Dzendzel Funeral Home, with Pastor Tom Christen officiating. Burial will follow at Mercer Memory Gardens Cemetery in Celina.
