Audrey Harner
Audrey I. Harner, age 93, passed away Thursday, February 4, 2021, at her residence in Celina.
She was born December 9, 1927, in Mercer County, to the late Frank & Ina (May) Davis. Audrey was a 1947 graduate of Rockford High School. On December 16, 1949, she married Howard Harner, and he preceded her in death February 3, 2012.
Surviving is a son, Duane (Sue) Harner and daughter, Wanda Harner of Celina, two step grandchildren: Gena Gilleo of Fort Wayne and Andrew Gilleo of Mitchell, IN, two step great-grandchildren: Adra (Blake) Acosta and Raven Gilleo, and several nieces & nephews.
Preceding her in death was an infant daughter, Alberta Louise, granddaughter, Suzanne Nickerson, siblings: infant Ralph Davis, Lawrence & Faye Davis, infant sister Davis, Marjorie Ada Nottingham and Winifred Johnson; her mother & father-in-law: Clem & Laura (Donovan) Harner, and brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law: Gladys & James Shauver, George Kuhn, and Orval & Helen Harner.
Audrey and Howard lived and worked on their Hopewell Township farm until 1998, when they moved into town. She had been employed at the former Equity Restaurant in Celina, the former Smith Nursing Home and Colonial Nursing Home in Rockford, and Community Hospital in Coldwater. Audrey retired from Celina Manor on December 22, 2008, after working there for 11 years.
A member of Mt. Tabor Church of God, Celina, Audrey had served as organist, and belonged to the WCSC (Women's Christian Service Club) at the church. She enjoyed reading the Bible, solving jigsaw and word search puzzles, playing cards, and spending time with her family.
Private Funeral Services for the family are planned, with the Rev. Richard Van Horn to officiate. Burial will follow at North Grove Cemetery in Celina.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Building Fund at Mt. Tabor Church.
