Neil Shaffer
Neil Wayne Shaffer, age 73, of Celina, Ohio passed away on Saturday, February 6, 2021 at the Mercer Health Mercer County Community Hospital in Coldwater.
He was born on February 1, 1948 in Celina, Ohio to the late Berlin H. and Blanche M. (Adams) Shaffer. Survivors include his Children; Lisa (Shawn) Steinke, Jenifer (Toney II) Kidwell, Nicole Shaffer all of Celina, daughter-in-law Andrea Shaffer of Celina, four grandchildren Taylor Steinke, Kahne Shaffer, Maya Kidwell, Maleena Shaffer and significant other Cindy Gray of Celina, brother and sister-in-law H. Dean (Kay) Shaffer of Celina, the mother of his children Viki (Russell) Shaffer of Celina and many Nieces and Nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son Kirk Shaffer and his sister Joan Tester.
Neil graduated from Celina High School with the Class of 1966. He proudly served his country in the Army National Guard and was honorably discharged in 1970.
Neil was a co-owner of Brodbeck's Markets for thirty-four years and supervised the Produce and Meat Departments. He was a member of the Grand Lake United Methodist Church in Celina, the Celina Moose Lodge, the Celina V.F.W., The N.R.A., the Harley Owners Group, and the American Diabetes Association member.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, February 12, 2021 at the Lehman-Dzendzel Funeral Home in Celina, with Rev. Diane Mendelson officiating. Burial will follow in the Swamp College Cemetery in Celina.
Friends may call from 4 P.M. to 8 P.M. on Thursday and an hour before services at the Lehman-Dzendzel Funeral Home. Attendees are required to wear masks, practice social distancing and follow the COVID-19 guidelines established by Governor DeWine and the Ohio Department of Health.
