Man gets 8-10 years for sex with child

By Sydney Albert
CELINA - A Coldwater man has been sentenced to 8-10 years in prison after pleading guilty in February to two counts of sexual battery involving a minor.
Conrad Yokkop, 22, pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual battery involving a 12-year-old, both second-degree felonies. As part of a plea bargain, two first-degree felony counts of rape were dropped.
Mercer County Common Pleas Court Judge Jeffrey Ingraham sentenced Yokkop Wednesday to 8-10 years in prison. Mercer County Prosecutor Matthew Fox explained the sentence was made under the new Reagan Tokes Law, which requires an indefinite sentence be given for all qualifying first- and second-degree felony offenses.
According to information from the Ohio Public Defender's Office, all first- and second-degree felonies committed after March 22, 2019, which are not punishable by a term of life imprisonment are eligible.
Yokkop was also reportedly registered as a sex offender.
