Jury deliberates for three hours

PORTLAND, Ind. - Emotions ran high on Thursday as Jay County Circuit Court Judge Brian Hutchison read the jury's unanimous decision declaring Esther Stephen guilty of felony murder.
Stephen, 30, of Portland, Indiana, dropped her head to the table and could be seen sobbing after she was found guilty of the murder of 31-year-old Shea Briar. She was not alone - several friends and relatives of both Stephen and Briar became tearful as well. [More]

After winning 100 games over four years with the Minster girls basketball team, Ivy Wolf can add one more accolade to her storied career.
Wolf is The Daily Standard Dream Team Girls Basketball Player of the Year for the second year in a row after another dominant season for the Wildcats, who made it to the Division IV regional semifinal before falling to eventual state champion Fort Loramie. Both of the Wildcats' losses in the 2020-21 season came at the hands of the Redskins. [More]

Club members scatter seeds for pollinator habitat in park
CELINA - St. Henry Boys Club members on Wednesday evening scattered millions of wildflower seeds over a half-acre plot near the wood in Westview Park to establish a flourishing pollinator habitat.
