New Bremen

6-4 Junior Guard/Forward

12.9 PPG, 4.4 Rebounds, 1.6 Assists

On Jan. 5, New Bremen was 4-4 on the season after losing on a last-second dunk against St. Marys.

That proved to be a turning point for the Cardinals, and for Reece Busse.

The Cardinals went on a six-game winning streak and Busse came away averaging 15.7 points per game, including scoring 27 points twice in the stretch.

His biggest shot of the season came in the district semifinals when he drained a 3-pointer at the buzzer to knock off MAC champion Minster, a team that defeated the Cardinals by 15 points on Dec. 11.

The Cardinals enjoyed their best season since 2006 in reaching the regional final for the first time as a program since 1977.

Busse earned first team All-MAC honors and earned All-District honors. The plus will be that New Bremen gets Busse and many of his teammates back for another run next season.
