Light snow will overspread the area from the northwest this morning. An increased coverage of snow showers is expected to develop this afternoon into the evening hours. Slick spots may develop on roads tonight as temperatures drop and northwest winds gust up to 30 mph. Coverage of snow showers is expected to decrease overnight before ending Monday morning. Most the area will see an accumulation of 1 to 2 inches. Locally higher amounts are possible in areas where heavier snow bands develop this afternoon into early evening.
Roadways may become slick. If traveling, be alert, slow down and allow extra time to reach your destination.

Verlene Lawler
Verlene Lawler, 85, of St. Marys, died suddenly on Sunday, March 28, 2021, at her residence.
She was born February 10, 1936, in Minster, Ohio, the daughter of Louis and Anna (Heitkamp) Albers. She married Jack Lawler on July 23, 1955 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Minster; he survives at the residence.
She is also survived by her children: Cindy (Dane) Widner of St. Marys; Tom (Amy) Lawler of Springboro, Ohio; Jane (Rob) Menker of St. Marys; Shawn (Sandy) Lawler of Troy, Ohio. She is survived by 9 grandchildren and by 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; by her siblings: Elmer (Hilda) Albers; Irene (Sylvan) Mestemaker; Louetta (Romanus) Goubeaux; Herbert Albers.
Verlene was a graduate of Minster High School. She had worked for many years at Crown Equipment Corporation and in later years at Durnell Jewelers in St. Marys. She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Altar Society and the choir.
Verlene enjoyed cooking, baking, painting and being a seamstress. She liked to participate in drama productions, and she loved to travel, especially on family trips to Canada. She was a very compassionate, caring person; family was most important to her and she was the glue that held the family together. She also enjoyed spending time with her many friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, March 31, 2021, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Father Alexander Witt, celebrant. Burial will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery.
Friends may call from 9:00-11:00 A.M. Wednesday at the church, where memorial gifts may be given to the Holy Rosary School Playground Fund. All visitors to the church are required to wear a mask, in accordance with the mandate of the Ohio Department of Health.
