Robert Wimmers
Robert B. Wimmers, 72, passed away peacefully after an extended illness on Tuesday, February 9, 2021, at home, surrounded by family.
Robert, known as "Doc" by friends, was born October 19, 1948, in St. Henry, Ohio to the late Victor and Dolores Wimmers.
He graduated from St. Henry High School in 1966.  Robert married Elizabeth "Becky" Wise of Celina, Ohio in 1969.
Surviving in addition to his wife are their children, Tracie (Jose) Otero of Elgin, Il. and Rob A. Wimmers of California.  Also surviving are two sisters, Thelma (Walt) Fortkamp of St. Henry,  Ohio and Mary (Mike) Vagedes of Tipp City,  Ohio, and 17 nieces and nephews.
Robert's career in I.T. as a regional manager took him and his family to several locations including Pennsylvania, California, and  Europe. After retirement, always a proud Grandpa, he played a key role in babysitting his grandkids, providing them with imaginative adventures.
His pastimes included coffee clutching with the guys, gardening and landscaping, reading, playing Spider Solitaire, watching sports, and the newscasts every day.  Most of all he loved driving to Ohio to visit with family for holidays, birthdays, and reunions. Among his fondest memories was his upbringing on the farm, and coming home from business trips to make late-night pizzas with his family.
Robert was a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church in Bloomingdale.  Services will be held at a later date.
A memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at St. Henry Catholic Church.
