* At 1232 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Portland, moving southeast at 50 mph.

Donald Wendel
Donald F. Wendel, 75, of Wendelin, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, July 21, 2021, at Mercer County Community Hospital in Coldwater.
He was born on July 5, 1946, in Celina, Ohio, to the late Rochus and Mildred (Beyke) Wendel.
In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by his siblings, Bob Wendel, Ron Wendel, and Mary Bruns; and his in-laws, Andy Schlarman, Robert Wynk, and David Kuck.
Don worked for New Idea, Freytag, and Coopers over the years. Along with St. Wendelin Catholic Church, he was a member of the Wendelin Sports Club, Knights of St. John, and the Catholic Financial Life at St. Joe. Don enjoyed woodworking and meeting with his morning breakfast group at the Coldwater bowling alley.
Don is survived by his siblings, Delores Schlarman of Maria Stein, Bill (Marie) Wendel from Chickasaw, Rita Wynk of Carthagena, Rosann (Clete) Prenger of Minster, Kate Wendel of Wendelin, Janet Kuck of Chickasaw, Dave (Eileen) Wendel of Fort Recovery, Marjorie (Nick) Meier of Maria Stein, and Ernie (Marilyn) Wendel of Wendelin; his in-laws, Marilyn Wendel of Fort Recovery, Dan Bruns of Chickasaw, and Karen Wendel of Wendelin; and his Godchildren, Carolyn Wynk, Lori Bergman, Scott Wendel, April Garrett, and Morris Wendel (dec.).
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:30 AM on Saturday, July 31, 2021, at St. Wendelin Catholic Church, 2980 Fort Recovery Minster Road, St. Henry, Ohio 45883. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Guests may visit with Don's family on Friday, July 30, 2021, from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Brockman Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery.
Memorial contributions may be given to Center Neurological Development.
