P. Garry Whitacre
P. Garry "Chip" Whitacre, age 57 of Celina, passed away on Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at his home in Celina.
He was born on March 3, 1964 in Mercer County to P. Garry Sr., who passed away on March 17, 2015, and Jeanette (Harrod) Whitacre who survives in St. Marys.
He is survived by his siblings Kathi Lewis and Jerry Kahlig of Montezuma, Sherri (Jason) Bubp of Wapakoneta, James (Kelly) Whitacre of Coldwater, step son Keith (Melissa) Miller of Celina, grandchildren, Brianna Miller and Brendon Slaven of Coldwater, Cayden Miller of Celina, Camden Miller of Celina, great-granddaughter Emery Slaven, numerous nieces and nephews, and ex-wife Sheryl (Gossett) Whitacre of Celina.
He is preceded in death by his father, grandparents Robert and Annabelle (Forwerck) Harrod, and Cherry Bechtol.
Chip was a self-employed mechanic and he enjoyed remote controlled cars, demo derby's, and motorcycles. He was a great mechanic and could fix anything with a motor in it.
Memorial gathering will be held from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, October 25, 2021 at the Lehman Dzendzel Funeral Home.
