Martha Fisher
Martha Jane (Linn) Fisher, age 87, of Celina, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at her home.
She was born September 22, 1934 in Celina. She married James W. Fisher on February 22, 1953 and he preceded her in death on November 9, 2011.
She is survived by five daughters, Debby (Gary) Hamrick, Willshire, Pam (Ted) Krugh, Rockford, Vickie (Donald) Harvey, Rockford, Kim (Jack) Monroe, Bryant, Indiana and Twyla (Mark) Stephenson, Lake Forest, California; two sisters, Mary Dieringer and Ginny Brewer, both of Celina; a sister-in-law, Mary Ann (Fisher) Faruque, Hickory, North Carolina; and 13 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.
Martha was preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Margaret (Ladderman) Linn; in-laws, Luther and Gladys (Sapp) Fisher; a son, Luther "Joe" Fisher; a sister; three great grandchildren; and three brothers-in-law, Eugene Dieringer, Ronald Brewer and Dr. Abu Faruque.
She graduated from Celina High School with the class of 1952, where she was active in cheerleading, band and many clubs and organizations. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Chattanooga, Ohio, where she was a Sunday school teacher for many years, took part in the women's activities and loved singing with the "Luther Annies." In summer her neighbors could often hear her playing her organ and singing beloved hymns. Martha loved to cook and no one ever left her house hungry.
She worked at Mercer Landmark in Chatt for many years with her husband, Wabash Valley Golf Course in Geneva, IN, Harts and Big Bear in Celina. Martha was also a loving caregiver to her six children, father-in-law and lastly her son during his long battle with MS.
Graveside services for both Martha and her son Luther "Joe" Fisher, who preceded her in death on December 21, 2021 will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at Kessler Cemetery in Celina with Rev. Adam Poe officiating.
