CELINA - Pastor George Rowell of Mercer and Celina Mt. Zion United Methodist churches has added a new hat to his collection - baker.
Rowell and his wife, Linda, take CALL Food Pantry's surplus food and make it into tasty, healthy dishes and also can apple butter, marmalade and jams. The Rowells then take the prepared dishes and canned items to the pantry for distribution to its clients. [More]

MINSTER - After a back-and-forth game, Minster had rallied one last time to close the gap to 51-50 with just over a minute left.
That last point proved too much for the Wildcats.
Parkway's Caden Slusher stepped to the line four times in the final minute and shot 6-of-7 to secure a wild 57-56 win in a Midwest Athletic Conference boys basketball game at Wildcat Gymnasium on Friday. [More]

CELINA - Despite the pandemic, Mercer County managed to again smash its sales tax collection record for the 11th consecutive year, said county auditor Randy Grapner.
CELINA - Mercer County commissioners this week agreed to increase the annual rental fee for county-owned boat docks at Harbor Point in Celina.
Commissioners also reorganized, electing Greg Homan as chairman and Jerry Laffin as vice chairman.
