Mr. Paul "Bunyan" Gibson, 70, formerly of St. Marys, OH died 5:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 18, 2022, at West Tennessee Healthcare Rehabilitation Hospital Cane Creek.

Paul was born December 14, 1951, in Terra Haute, Indiana, son of the late Carl Eugene and Betty Jean (Nolan) Gibson. He married Cathy (Lehman) Gibson September 25, 1970. She died November 9, 1982.

He is survived by two sons, Pete Gibson of Union City and Chris Richardson (Stephanie) of Henderson; two daughters, Shelly Webb (Randall) of Union City and Shannon Gibson (Erik Dowdy) of Union City; seven grandchildren, Elizabeth Bishop (Terrence) of Memphis, Savannah Webb of Memphis, Ashton Webb of Union City, Hensleigh Dowdy of Union City, Audri Dowdy of Union City, Ava Dowdy of Union City, Caylee Richardson of Henderson and Cayleb Richardson of Henderson; and one brother, Kurt Meier (Jennifer) of St. Marys, Ohio.

He was also preceded in death by: father Carl Gibson; mother Betty Jean Gibson-Meier; brother, Cliff Gibson.

Paul was a graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School (Class of 1970). He worked for the former Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company for 39 years and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. His favorite pastimes included bowling and watching football and baseball.

Rites are scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday January 30, 2022 at the Miller - Long & Folk Funeral Home 314 W. High Street in St. Marys. Burial will follow at the Resthaven Memory Gardens near Moulton, OH.

Visitation 12:00 noon - 2:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
