MINSTER - The village has been approved for a $500,000 federal grant to help fund a $1.03 million playground project in town, council members learned at their meeting Tuesday.
Village administrator Don Harrod said state officials advised him the grant is from the Land and Water Conservation Fund. [More]
Firm receives award for water treatment tech

CELINA - A Cincinnati firm has won a national award for its contributions to a new process that filters water from Grand Lake to provide drinking water for the city's 10,000-plus residents.
The new process went online last year at Celina's water treatment plant on U.S. 127. The 13,500-acre lake is Celina's sole source of drinking water. [More]

ROCKFORD - Rockford village council hired a part-time parks manager but tabled a resolution on new park rental rates at their Tuesday night meeting.

Village administrator Stan Sutter said Tuesday a developer from RND Development LLC, St. Henry, spoke about the proposed project during Monday's village council meeting.
COLDWATER - Coldwater school board members heard from Tri Star Director Tim Buschor during their meeting Tuesday.
Buschor discussed ongoing research into TriStar possibly becoming a stand-alone school, responsible for its own funding, programs and employee hiring.
