Robert F. VonderHaar
Robert F. 'Bob' VonderHaar, age 87 of Celina died Friday, March 25, 2022, at St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima.
He was born March 2, 1935, in Ft. Recovery to the late Anthony & Marcella (Gebele) VonderHaar.
On October 25, 1958, he married Joan Hoyng and they had three children: Karen, Diane, and David.   
He is survived by his wife Joan (Hoyng) VonderHaar in Celina; a daughter Karen (Mike) Kleinhenz of Coldwater; a son Dave (Julie) VonderHaar of Crystal Lake, IL; grandchildren, Stephen (Lindsey) Kleinhenz, Erin (Phil) Shealy, Gregory Kleinhenz, Will VonderHaar and Ava VonderHaar; great-grandchildren Olivia, Michael & Octavia Kleinhenz and Graham & Isaac Shealy; in-laws Tom Hoyng of Coldwater, Rev. William Hoyng CPPS of Carthagena, Jan Hoyng and Joyce (Brian) Forschner all of Cincinnati. He is preceded in death by daughter Diane, great-grandson Daniel Kleinhenz, siblings and in-laws, Pat (John) Lies, Mary Alice Hinger and Betty Jo Hoyng.
Bob received a degree from the University of Dayton and subsequently served as a captain in the US Army Reserve. Bob continued the family business, VonderHaar Meat Processing and Grocery, which served the community for over forty years. He was active in the Ft. Recovery Jaycees, Knights of Columbus, and the Ambassador Club. Bob sang in the Mary Help of Christians Church choir for thirty years. Travel and grilling were two of his favorite pastimes. Bob was known for his infectious laugh and congeniality. Upon retirement, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends on Grand Lake.
  Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. Elizabeth Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 pm on Friday and 9 to 10 am Saturday at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Coldwater.
