Vera Lynn Whitted, 65, of Rockford passed away on April 24, 2022 at her home after a battle with cancer.

She was born on September 22, 1956, in Knoxville, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Thurman Whitted and Betty (Vann) Whitted.

Vera was a graduate of Parkway High School.

Vera was a devoted mother, sister, and grandmother. She was always quick to share a smile and brought joy and laughter to all who knew her. Vera loved spending time with her family, especially her granddaughter. She never took a moment in life for granted. Vera will be missed for her kind, loving, beautiful spirit.

Vera was a huge fan of White Castle's and garage sales. She also loved taking family trips to Tennessee.

Survivors include her son, James (Bobbijo) Whitted of Rockford; two brothers, John Whitted and Thurman Whitted, Jr.; and one granddaughter, Havanna (Whitted) Hirschy.

A private family celebration of Vera's beautiful life will be held at a later date.
