1 killed, 2 injured in accident

By Abigail Miller
OSGOOD - A Versailles woman was killed and two others were injured in a two-vehicle injury accident on Thursday evening.
Hannah Gehret, 20, died at the scene of the crash at the intersection of Versailles-Yorkshire Road and Bulcher Road, according to a Darke County Sheriff's Office news release.
Deputies from the Darke County Sheriff's Office, Osgood Rescue, Osgood Fire Department, CareFlight and the Darke County Coroner's Office responded to the scene at 5:28 p.m. Thursday.
A preliminary investigation showed a gray Honda Accord driven by Gehret was stopped at a stop sign facing east on Bulcher Road. Gehret reportedly failed to yield the right of way to a tan Chevrolet Silverado driven by Steven Homan, 29, Minster, traveling south on Versailles-Yorkshire Road.
Both vehicles went off the roadway and into a field after impact. Homan's vehicle rolled onto its side, where he freed himself and his juvenile passenger. They both sustained non-life threatening injuries.
Gehret was extracted by mechanical means but died at the scene, according to the release.
