Baylen Blockberger

Coldwater

5-10 Junior guard

15.0 PPG, 3.5 Rebounds, 3.0 Assists, 1.4 Steals

In his first full season starting, the junior point guard made an immediate impact for the Cavaliers. Blockberger recorded 16 double-digit games, including seven where he scored more than 20 points. He scored at least 23 in four of Coldwater's last six games, including 24 in the regular season finale against Minster and 24 in the double-overtime sectional loss to Liberty-Benton.

Against Versailles, Blockberger posted 37 points, coming up five points shy of Jim Schoch's school record for a single game.

His ability to drive to the rim helped him shoot 45.5% from the field, and he added an outside shooting touch, knocking down 37 3-pointers at a 31% clip.

"He's just a really heady kid," Coldwater coach Nick Fisher said of Blockberger after a Feb. 9 win over Marion Local. "He's in the gym after practice countless nights. He's got a heckuva work ethic."

After the season, Blockberger was recognized as an All-MAC first-teamer and All-District second-teamer.
