William Jolliff Jr.
William "Blood" Jolliff Jr., 71, a St. Marys music legend, died April 21, 2024, at his residence near St. Marys.
He was born June 28, 1952, in Lima, Ohio, the son of William and Vedna (Poe) Jolliff, Sr.
He is survived by his mother, Vedna Jolliff of St. Marys; by his siblings: Darrell (Deborah) Jolliff of St. Marys; Jerry (Tina) Jolliff of Bridgeport, W. Va.; Christopher Jolliff of Norwich, Conn. He is also survived by his nieces Ashley (Chris) Enourato and Heather Scott; by his nephew, J.J.Jolliff; by his great nieces and nephews: Aiden, Jeno, Mackenzie, Marissa; Manson and Tristan.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Blood was a 1972 graduate of Piketon High School and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He served in Panama from 1972-75. He returned to St. Marys and opened the Record Mart, which he operated for several years. He retired from Safeway Packaging Company. Blood was a great musician and singer who played in three local bands over the past 40 years: Crossroads, DNA and Super Villin. He was a great entertainer who absolutely loved playing music.
Funeral rites will be held 7 p.m. Thursday, April 25, 2024, at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, St. Marys, the Rev. Tim Benjamin, officiant.
Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, where memorial gifts may be given to assist with Blood's final expenses.
