Larry Wilson
Larry B. Wilson, 83, of Saint Marys, passed away at 12:45 P.M. on Sunday, September 8, 2024, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Larry was born on April 21, 1941, in Auglaize County, Ohio, to Raymond V. Clark and Dolores (Drake) Clark. Larry's father courageously joined the fight to defend freedom during WWII, playing a key role in defeating Nazi forces. On April 30, 1945, in Germany, Larry's father made the ultimate sacrifice, heroically losing his life after helping liberate the Dachau Concentration Camp alongside his fellow heroes. Larry's mother later married John A. Wilson, who proudly took on the role of Larry's beloved father.
On December 26, 1964, Larry married his best friend and the love of his life, Mary Dine, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Mary remains his devoted partner in Saint Marys, where their journey together continues in spirit ahead of their 60th wedding anniversary.
Affectionately known as LB to nearly all who had the honor of knowing him, Larry is lovingly remembered by his sons: Christopher (Nancy Heuker) Wilson of Saint Marys; Nicholas (Michelle Murawski) Wilson of Saint Marys; and Michael (Whitney Page) Wilson of Galena, Ohio.
Larry's grandchildren - Benjamin (Michelle) Wilson; Zachary (Alicia) Wilson; Rebecca Wilson; Samantha (Dirk) Fenwick; Riley Wilson; Peyton Wilson; August Wilson; and Page Wilson - each carries on his legacy, alongside his brother-in-law, Mark Dine; sister-in-law, Nan (Dine) Halton; and sister-in-law Margarita Wilson of Saint Marys.
Preceding Larry in passing were his father, Raymond Clark; parents, John and Dolores Wilson; brother, Greg Wilson; parents-in-law, William and Madonna Dine, and brother-in-law, John Dine.
A proud 1959 graduate of Saint Marys Memorial High School and 1964 graduate of The Ohio State University, Larry worked for 35 years at Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in Saint Marys, finishing his career as a Purchasing Agent. A devoted member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Larry's life was filled with happiness and the joy of one well lived, from golf, fishing, and card games to cheering on his beloved Cincinnati Reds, Cleveland Browns, and the OSU Buckeyes through good seasons and bad.
LB will forever be celebrated for his gentle demeanor, widespread kindness, overwhelming generosity, and sage advice. Perhaps above all, LB will be remembered for his fantastic sense of humor and sharp wit, which unsurprisingly to those who knew him best was on full display through his last breath.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, with Father Prasanth officiating. Larry will be laid to rest at Gethsemane Catholic Cemetery.
Friends are welcome to gather from 2-6 P.M. on Friday at Miller-Long and Folk Funeral Home, 314 West High Street, Saint Marys, where memorial gifts can be made to Friends of the Saint Marys Theater.
Memories and condolences may be shared with Larry's family at Millerfuneralhomes.net.
