Paul Haskett
Paul "Pete" Voscoe Haskett passed away peacefully on October 7, 2024, at his home in Naples, Florida, surrounded by family and friends.
A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Pete was known for his gentle and caring nature. Throughout his life, he was always thinking of others, providing for his family, and forming lasting friendships with ease. He had a practical mind and a self-deprecating sense of humor that endeared him to many, even in his final hours.
Pete was born on October 5, 1936, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Alice (Gerber) Haskett and Loring Voscoe Haskett. He attended Anderson High School, where he excelled in both baseball and football, later earning a place in the Anderson High School Hall of Fame. After serving in the Army, Pete moved to Cleveland, Ohio, where he met the love of his life, Linda Oberholzer. Together, they built a life in Coldwater, Ohio, raising their two children, Debbie (husband, Greg Thomason) and Greg Haskett.
Pete and Linda shared 58 years of love, joy, and unwavering commitment. His devotion to her was particularly evident during her later years, as he cared for her full-time. Linda passed away on June 10, 2020, but their bond remained a cornerstone of Pete's life. He is survived by his loving family, including his grandchildren, Phoebe and Rudy Thomason, and his daughter-in-law, Kateri Moll Haskett.
He was preceded in death by his son Gary Alan, his parents Alice and Loring, his sister Jeanne (Haskett) Toney, and brother-in-law Bernard Toney.
Pete worked as a Finance Manager at New Idea Farm Equipment Company and, upon retirement in 1999, settled in Naples, FL. He enjoyed traveling, spending time with family, food, friends, and his beloved grand dogs, Gonz and Gabby.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Cincinnati Animal CARE, the Naples Humane Society, or a charity of your choice, in Pete's memory.
