Light snow will overspread the area from the northwest this morning. An increased coverage of snow showers is expected to develop this afternoon into the evening hours. Slick spots may develop on roads tonight as temperatures drop and northwest winds gust up to 30 mph. Coverage of snow showers is expected to decrease overnight before ending Monday morning. Most the area will see an accumulation of 1 to 2 inches. Locally higher amounts are possible in areas where heavier snow bands develop this afternoon into early evening.
Roadways may become slick. If traveling, be alert, slow down and allow extra time to reach your destination.

Andrew Heck
Andrew James Heck, age 55, of Mendon, passed away on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at Mercy Health - St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima.
Andy was born March 26, 1969, in Van Wert, to James A. "Jimbo" and Martha P. (Dunno) Heck, who are deceased. A son, Garry A. Heck, preceded him in death August 7, 2024, and his father, Jim, recently passed away on December 25th.
Andy and Nickie (Seals) were married on June 3, 1989. She survives, along with their daughters: Tara Heck (Adam Leatherman) of Van Wert, and Tori Heck of Mendon; grandchildren: Andrew Heck and Alyzah Heck of Celina; and his brother & sisters: Mike (Samantha) Heck of Mendon, Rebecca Heck Getzendiner (Ron Fink) of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, andJessica (Mike) Heck-Stelzer of Mendon.
Also surviving are brothers-in-law: Garry "Goose" (Coleena) Seals of Rockford, and Larry "Shorty" (Holly) Seals of Celina, and numerous nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Rebekka Thomas and great nephew, Elias Andrew Thomas.
He was also preceded in death by his father-in-law, Garry Seals.
Andy was a 1987 graduate of Mendon-Union High School, and attended auto body classes at Vantage Vocational School. Andy worked at New Idea in Coldwater, until its closing. He had also been employed at Crown Equipment in New Bremen, AAP in St. Marys, and various other area factories. He was a member of the Grand Lake Motorcycle Club, Mendon, and was the club's current President. Andy's interests included motorcycles, music, camping, pug dogs, gardening, and raising chickens.
Calling Hours will be held at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home in Mendon, on Friday, February 7, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will follow at 3:00, with Rev. Steven Leonard, officiating.
Burial will take place at Mendon Cemetery.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Funeral Home to help with expenses.
