Snow showers will continue this afternoon into the evening hours. Slick spots may develop on roads tonight as temperatures drop and northwest winds gust from 20 to 30 mph. Coverage of snow showers is expected to decrease overnight before ending Monday morning. Most the area will see an accumulation of one-half inch to 2 inches. Visibility will be restricted at times in the heavier showers.
Roadways may become slick. If traveling, be alert, slow down and allow extra time to reach your destination.

Martha Jane Arend
Martha Jane Arend, 90, of Mark Center, Ohio, passed away Saturday, March 22, 2025, at Community Health Professionals Inpatient Hospice Center, Defiance, Ohio, with her family by her side.
Martha was born May 3, 1934, in Glenmore, Ohio, daughter of the late Kenen and Evelyn (Krick) Clouse. She was a 1952 graduate of Ohio City Liberty High School. Martha married Robert E. Arend Sr. on June 20, 1953, in Cecil, Ohio, and he preceded her in death on December 5, 2010.
Martha was first employed at Central Insurance Company as a clerk before becoming a homemaker and raising her family. She then worked for Arend Enterprises as the bookkeeper and accountant for over 40 years. Martha was a member of the former Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Cecil, where she was active with the Altar and Rosary Society. She was a current member of St. Michael Catholic Church, Hicksville. Martha was a 25-year member of the Ohio Flying Farmers, where she was publisher of their organization newsletter. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, crafting, flying and watching birds - especially hummingbirds. Above all, Martha loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Surviving are her ten children, Robert (Sue) Arend Jr. of Mark Center, Janice (Tim) Dickerson of Celina, Lisa (Dan) Blosser of Bryan, Marcia Mitchell of Bryan, Geraldine (Gregg) Gause of Defiance, Michelle Penny of Bryan, Daniel Arend of Mark Center, Aimee (Jeff) Taylor of West Unity, Jennifer (Jay) Brown of Defiance and Howard (Katie) Arend of Sherwood; 35 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 57 years, Robert E. Arend Sr.; an infant son; an infant daughter, Mary Ann; two brothers, Richard "Dick" Clouse and James "Jim" Clouse.
Visitation for Martha Jane Arend will be held Friday, March 28, 2025, from 3:00 - 7:00 P.M. at Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 706 North Main Street, Hicksville, where the Rosary will be recited at 7:00 P.M.
Funeral Mass for Martha will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at St. Michael Catholic Church, 100 Antwerp Drive, Hicksville, with Father Daniel Borgelt officiating. Interment will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Cecil.
Memorial contributions can be directed to St. Michael Catholic Church or to Masses.
