Wanda Brochin
Our Mother, Wanda M Brochin (93) of Coldwater, most recently of Troy, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at Ohio's Hospice of Miami County, surrounded by her three daughters.
Mom was born on November 11, 1931, in Portland, Indiana to the late Arlo and Mabel (Jessup) Gettinger. Mom married the love of her life, our dad, Alphonse "Al" Brochin on June 27, 1954. They shared 66 years together until dad's passing on February 7, 2021.
Mom is survived by her three daughters, Le Ann Eshelman and Jerry Saunders of Mansfield and her son, Jordan Eshelman of Mount Vernon. Jim and Nancy Froning of Troy and their children Joshua and Grace Froning of Cincinnati, Chad Froning of Troy, Alexis and Bryan McDonagh of Grove City and their daughter Emrey. Amy and Chris Cottrill of Wapakoneta and their son Bryce Cottrill and fiancée McKennah Fisher of Sidney and step grandchildren Ashley, Ethan, Brittney.
Mom worked at Mersman's Furniture in Celina. After retirement mom chose to work part-time at Jutte's IGA and Chief's Market in Coldwater. She enjoyed gardening and going to as many garage sales as possible. She was an active member of the Church of the Nazarene in Fort Recovery for many years.
Also surviving is mom's sister, Dixie Amstutz; and sisters-in-law, Suzanne Gettinger and Bettie Ann Frazier.
A celebration of Mom's life will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at Brockman Boeckman Funeral Home with Pastor Brad Ratliff officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in rural Jay County.
Guests may visit with the family on Tuesday from 12:00 PM until the start of the service at 1:00 PM at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to a hospice of their choice or the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, perpetual care fund.
