Norma Krueger
A mass of Christian Burial will be held for Norma L. Krueger, 93, of Granville at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, April 5, 2025, at The Church of St. Edward the Confessor, 785 Newark Granville Rd., Granville with Father Timothy Hayes as celebrant. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Granville.
The family will receive friends Friday, April 4, 2025, from 1-3 and 5-7 P.M. at the McPeek Hoekstra Hoskinson Funeral Home, 133 S. Prospect St., Granville.
Mrs. Krueger died Friday, March 28, 2025, at Licking Memorial Hospital in Newark. She was born December 11, 1931, to the late Albert and Bernadine (Janning) Ebbing.
Norma was a graduate of Coldwater High School in Coldwater, OH. She attended Denison University, Ohio Northern University, the University of Dayton and The Ohio State University. Norma graduated with a Master's in Special Education from Ohio University.
In 1996, Norma retired from the Licking County Board of Developmental Disabilities for whom she taught for more than 30 years at The Eleanor S. Weiant School. She is a Past President and member of the Council for Exceptional Children, and former member of the Professional Advocates & Resources organization.
Throughout the years, Norma was involved in many organizations and activities. One of her favorite things was painting and artwork. She was a member of the Licking County Art Association and the Southeast Ohio Watercolor Society and participated in many art shows around the state. She was also involved in the Licking County Players, their Suitcase Theatre, and performed in many productions over the years. Norma was named an honorary member of the Granville Kiwanis Club as she remained very active with the club of which Baird was a charter member. Norma was a member of The Church of Saint Edward the Confessor where she was active with the Edwardians, sang in the choir, and participated in Bible study.
Norma's final accomplishment, of which she was most proud, was the book she wrote, 'Unfinished Symphonies of the Country Bumpkin.'
Norma was preceded in death by Baird, her husband of 53 years, and sisters Jeanette (Orville) Siefring and Alberta (Paul) Braun, both of Coldwater, OH.
During her time at Altercare North, where she has resided for the past two years, Norma remained very active participating in many activities and outings that were available to her. Norma developed some wonderful friendships while she was there, with both the residents and staff, and she will be deeply missed by many.
Norma is survived by her daughters, Kathryn Jenkins of Granville and Kristine Krueger (Tim Slarb) of Coldwater, OH, grandchildren Sarah and Noah Jenkins, and Lee Slarb.
Norma's family would like to express their sincere gratitude and appreciation for the loving and excellent care she received during her time at Altercare North.
