Dale Muhlenkamp
Dale James Muhlenkamp, age 84, of Tustin, California passed away on Monday, May 12, 2025.
He was born on June 27, 1940 in St. Anthony, Ohio to the late Alfons and Alvina (Krieg) Muhlenkamp. On October 26, 1968 in Phoenix, AZ, he married Gayle June Deedman who died on June 18, 2012.
Dale is survived by his children Monique Marie Muhlenkamp of Sonoma, CA, Nicole Phung (Chuong) of Dallas, TX, Danette Muhlenkamp of Costa Mesa, CA, Colette Bruce (Tim) of Santa Ana, CA, and Clay Muhlenkamp of Santa Ana, CA, and granddaughters Madeleine and Emma Phung.
He is also survived by siblings Dolores Froning, Ron (Carol) Muhlenkamp of Coldwater, Carol (Dale) Laux of St. Marys, Roger (Donna) Muhlenkamp of Flagstaff, AZ and sisters-in-law Sue Muhlenkamp and Joan Muhlenkamp of Coldwater.
In addition to his parents, Dale was preceded in death by his siblings and in-laws Jean (Ivo) Bruns, Bob (Sally) Muhlenkamp, Dorothy (Lavern) Brockman, Lucy (Don) Beckstedt, Dick Muhlenkamp, Mark Muhlenkamp, and brother-in-law Charlie Froning.
He graduated from Coldwater High School in 1958 and received an engineering degree from Chicago Technical College in 1961. In his lengthy career as an engineer, he worked at Massey-Ferguson, Perkins Engines, and retired from Toyota Motor Sales.
He loved his family and especially enjoyed doting on his granddaughters. He was an avid collector of old farm and garden equipment that he repurposed into art. As shared by family, friends, and colleagues, Dale was gregarious, a gentleman, and had a wicked good sense of humor.
He was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Irvine, CA and was active with the Knights of Columbus.
A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 am PT on June 27, 2025 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Irvine, CA, with Fr. Thomas Tran officiating. The funeral mass will be live streamed here: https://www.youtube.com/live/quBzX2yTdaE.
