Alberta Loffer
Alberta "Bert" Loffer, 95, of Saint Marys, died 2:30 a.m. Thursday, June 5, 2025, at Vancrest of Saint Marys following a brief illness.
She was born December 24, 1929, in New Bremen, the daughter of Ferd and Bertha (Wietholter) Ahlers.
She married Max Loffer on December 20, 1947, and he preceded her in death on August 21, 2002.
She is survived by her daughters: Carol (Steve) Axe of Saint Marys; Stacy (Randy) Allemeier of Saint Marys; by her grandchildren: Shawn (Loraine) Moeller; Nathan Moeller; Douglas (Rebekah) Axe; Corey ( LyndI) Axe; Garet Fledderjohann; Calen Fledderjohann; Reagan Allemeier; her step-grandchildren: Austin Allemeier; Madison (Josh) Schwartz. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren: Timmy Moeller; Katey Moeller; Lawson Axe; Creed Axe; Livvi Axe; by 2 step-great-grandchildren: Grayson and Sutton Schwartz. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Edna Ahlers of Saint Marys.
She was preceded in death by her husband; by her daughter, Rebecca Moeller; her siblings: Richard Ahlers, Donald Ahlers; Deloris Rasor; Eugene Ahlers.
Bert was a graduate of New Bremen High School. She had worked at Crown Equipment Company and the S&W Motel and in later years was a homemaker. She loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed going to casinos, playing cards and bowled in a league for 30 years. She crocheted many afghans for her friends and family over the years, and she was a fan of the Cincinnati Reds, OSU Buckeyes and the Saint Marys Roughriders. She and her husband, Max, were instrumental in starting VFW Post 9289 in Saint Marys, and she was a member of Wayne Street Methodist Church.
Funeral rites will be held 2:00 P.M. Monday, June 9, 2025, at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, Saint Marys, the Reverend Tim Benjamin, officiant. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call from 12 noon until the time of services on Monday at the funeral home, where memorial gifts may be given to Grand Lake Hospice.
