* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...The following counties, in west central Ohio, Auglaize and Mercer.
* WHEN...Until 415 PM EDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 110 PM EDT, radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are possible. - Some locations that may experience flooding include... Coldwater, New Bremen, Minster, St. Henry, Fort Recovery, New Knoxville, Chickasaw, Montezuma, Carthagena and Maria Stein.

* Flash Flood Warning for... West Central Auglaize County in west central Ohio... Northeastern Shelby County in west central Ohio...
* Until 400 PM EDT.
* At 108 PM EDT, trained weather spotters reported flash flooding across the warned area. Between 2.5 and 3.5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1.5 inches are possible.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Trained spotters reported.
IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.
* Some locations that may experience flash flooding include... Anna, Jackson Center, Botkins, New Knoxville, Kettlersville, Montra, Mccartyville and Maplewood.

John Hoersten
John J. Hoersten, 90, of Rockford passed away Monday, June 30, 2025 at Ohio Health Van Wert. He was born May 14, 1935 in Ottoville, Ohio and was the son of the late Louis and Catherine (Fischbach) Hoersten.
John served in the Army from 1954 until 1956. After discharge from the military, he worked at Mercer Landmark, at the grain elevator in Rockford, for many years.
On October 12, 1957 he married the former Nada Bayles, who preceded him in death on March 23, 2005.
John was a member of the Rockford American Legion post #508. He liked to bowl and play cards. Phase 10 games with family often lasted hours. They involved the telling of great stories and created cherished family memories. He also liked to go to T. J.'s in Rockford (now Roaddog) to gossip with his friends. John also loved to follow Parkway sports as well as the Parkway band.
Surviving are two sons, Stephen (Tammy) Hoersten of Brownsburg, Indiana, and Bryan (Maureen) Hoersten of Elyria, Ohio; one daughter, Barbara (Jim) Crocker of Ohio City, Ohio; four grandchildren, Casey (Hillary) Hoersten, Adam (Talli) Hoersten, Matthew (Anne) Hoersten, and Owen Hoersten; and six great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, John was preceded in death by his grandson, Andy; and his siblings, Eddie, Ike, Mary, Jeannette, Betty, Bud, Roger, Rita, and Harold.
A celebration of John's life will be held at a later date.
