James Klosterman
James S. Klosterman, age 75, of Montezuma, passed away Saturday, August 2, 2025 at his residence. He was born December 22, 1949 in Celina, a son of LeRoy A. and Ethel E. (Wilker) Klosterman. Jim and Diana Wysong were married on December 30, 1992.
She survives, along with a stepson and daughter-in-law: Roy Jack "R.J." Jr. and Kelee Murphy of Xenia, 5 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, his brothers & sisters: Patricia Etchen of Hicksville, Norma Jean Chaney, Larry & Paula Klosterman, and Kathy & Don Freeman, all of Celina, Tom & Donna Klosterman and Deb & Charley Steinbrunner, all of St. Marys, Carol & Bob Bruggeman of Coldwater, and Dave & Elaine Klosterman of Montezuma, and many nieces & nephews. Jim also leaves behind his beloved dogs: Betsy and Sissie.
Surviving brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law are: Dale & Wendy Coyle, Bonnie Wysong, Johnia Whitt, and Sonny Wysong, all of Miamisburg, and Terry Coyle of Montezuma.
Preceding Jim in death were his parents: LeRoy A. & Ethel Klosterman, grandparents: Harmon & Anna Klosterman and Joseph & Philomena Wilker, parents-in-law: Gordon & Mary Jane Wysong, brothers-in-law: Denny Etchen, Richard Chaney and Ronald Wysong, nieces: Julie Klosterman and Jodi Klosterman, and a nephew, Thomas L. Klosterman.
Jim was a 1968 graduate of Celina High School, where he played football. He then worked for 30 years at Goodyear in St. Marys. Jim was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Montezuma, USTA (United States Trotting Association) and the Montezuma Fire Department. He had coached Peewee Football in the early 70's and years ago, played softball for Arnie's Corner. Jim owned and trained horses for many years, and enjoyed racing his horses at county fairs. He was a fan of the Cincinnati Reds and Cincinnati Bengals. Jim enjoyed going for rides with his dogs and his buddy, Terry Coyle! He was very involved with his nieces & nephews, and supported all of their activities. A kind and caring man, Jim was loved by many.
The Klosterman family would like to thank the team from Grand Lake Hospice for the wonderful care provided to Jim in his last days.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. Friday, August 8, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Montezuma. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Calling Hours are 4:00 to 7:00 P.M., Thursday, August 7, and 9:00 to 10:00 A.M. on Friday, August 8, at
W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home in Celina.
