Kathleen Forwerck
Kathleen Mary Forwerck, age 62, of Celina, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Darke County on U.S. 127 on August 30, 2025. She was born on April 4, 1963, in Coldwater, Ohio, to Ronald and Betty (Tumbusch) Hilgefort.
On December 2, 2011, she married Paul A. Forwerck, who preceded her in death on March 16, 2023.
Kathy is survived by her children: Dr. Jason D. (Betsy) Springer of Wolverine, Michigan; Amanda E. (Jesse High) Springer of Celina; Heather Sutter of Celina; Brett (Angie) Forwerck of Celina; Matt (Jeanine) Forwerck of Montezuma; and Nick Forwerck of Columbus; 14 beloved grandchildren; her mother, Betty Hilgefort of Montezuma; her sister, Karen (Brad) Cheeseman of St. Marys; and many cherished nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ronald Hilgefort; a son, Justin Forwerck; and a granddaughter, Destiny Sullivan.
A 1981 graduate of Celina High School, Kathy most recently worked as a teacher's aide for Celina City Schools, a position she deeply loved and took great pride in. She had previously been employed at Taylor Communications in Coldwater and at Cooper Farms in Saint Henry, where she worked for many years.
Kathy was a devoted member of Calvary Christian Fellowship in St. Marys. She enjoyed volunteering at community events, supporting her grandchildren at their sporting events and school activities, and living out her strong faith through kindness and service. Above all, she will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend who touched many lives with her caring heart.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at Cisco Funeral Home in Celina, with her son, Dr. Jason D. Springer, officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Swamp College Cemetery in Celina.
