Car-bus crash leaves Celina woman hospitalized
8 students on bus have only minor injuries

GREENVILLE - A 26-year-old Celina woman was airlifted with serious injuries to Miami Valley Hospital following a head-on collision with a school bus Friday morning near Greenville.
The two-vehicle accident happened at about 8:30 a.m. Friday at the 8800 block of U.S. Route 127, according to a Darke County Sheriff's Office news release.
Amanda Storer was reportedly driving a green 2013 Honda Fit northbound on U.S. Route 127 when she crossed the centerline, striking a southbound 2022 Greenville City Schools bus driven by Abby Rose, 43, Greenville.
After the impact, the school bus traveled left of the centerline and came to rest against a guardrail, according to the release. The Honda Fit traveled off the right side of the roadway, coming to rest against a guardrail.
Storer was reportedly extricated from the Honda Fit by mechanical means and transported by CareFlight to Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton, where she was listed in critical condition.
Eight juvenile occupants were on the school bus at the time of the accident, according to the release. Six of the children were treated and released at the scene to their parents, while two juvenile passengers were transported with non-life-threatening injuries to Wayne HealthCare, Greenville, for medical evaluation.
Rose was also transported with non-life-threatening injuries to Wayne HealthCare, the release states.
The Darke County Sheriff's Office Accident Reconstruction Team responded to the scene for further investigation. U.S. Route 127 was closed for about three hours.
Also responding to the scene were Ansonia Rescue, Ansonia Fire, Greenville Township Rescue, Greenville Township Fire, Ohio State Highway Patrol and Greenville Police Department.
