Barry Baucher
Barry Baucher, age 74, of St. Marys, a former resident of Celina, was called home to the Lord, surrounded by the love and comfort of his family, on November 24th, at Mercy Health-St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima. He was able to give the gift of sight through organ donation.
Born on October 22, 1951 in Celina, to the late Ralph and Mary Helen Baucher, Barry lived a life marked by dedication, humor, and an unwavering devotion to those he loved.
On March 7, 1971, he married the love of his life, Patricia "Trish" (Henderson) Baucher, beginning a partnership that spanned more than five decades. Together they built a full and vibrant family, raising five children and creating a legacy rooted in love, hard work, and togetherness.
Barry is survived by his children: Amy (Jeff) Heiby of Celina, Daniel (Monica) Baucher of Hillsboro, Jeremy Baucher of Celina, and Christy (Mike) Ginter of St. Marys. He was a proud grandfather to Austin (Katelyn) Heiby, Logan Heiby, Paige Baucher, Logan Kimmel, CJ Kimmel, Kody (Kam) Heiby, Lilly (Austin) Waters, Sydney (Derrick) Stachler, Megan Baucher, Allison Baucher, Riley Warwick, Teyler Ginter, Isaiah Baucher, and Lucas Ginter. Barry's joy extended into the next generation as well-he was blessed with four great-grandchildren: Greyson Heiby, Samantha Heiby, Ralph Stachler, and Braylon Baucher, with three more expected to arrive soon.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his half-brother, Jerry King; his sisters, Betty Parr and Lynne Baucher; his daughter, Jessica Baucher; his son, Billy Baucher; and his grandson, Cody Baucher. Though their absence weighed heavily on his heart, Barry carried their memories with him every day.
A 1970 graduate of Celina High School, Barry received a Bachelor's Degree from ITT in Dayton. Barry worked tirelessly throughout his life, always striving to provide for his family. His career included years at Mersman's until its closure, New Idea, Ace Hardware, Panasonic until its closure, and later Joint Township Hospital, where he eventually retired. His strong work ethic was matched only by his love for spending time with his family, a joy that defined his later years.
A true Buckeye fan, Barry never missed a chance to cheer on Ohio State. He was also a devoted Heartland fanatic and a loyal Hallmark Channel enthusiast-often enjoying the simple comfort of a good story.
Above all, Barry treasured the moments shared with his family, whether gathered for holidays, cheering from the sidelines, or simply enjoying each other's company.
Barry will be remembered for his kindness, his wit, and his steadfast devotion to those he loved most. His legacy of love, resilience, and family will continue to shine through the generations he leaves behind.
May he rest in peace, reunited with those who went before him, and welcomed into the loving arms of the Lord.
Calling Hours will be held at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home in Celina, on Saturday, November 29th, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Funeral Services will follow at 3:00, with Tim Heiby officiating. Burial will take place at Mercer Memory Gardens, Celina.
