Rebecca Jo (Carpenter) Adams (86) is now with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, having passed to her eternal home on (January 26, 2026).

Rebecca was born September 18, 1939 at Highland Park, Celina Ohio to the late George Carpenter and Wanda (Shimp) Carpenter Ballard. She was the only daughter with three older brothers; Jerry, Tom, and Dick, who have also passed.

Rebecca married Ray L. Adams in 1965 at St. Paul's United Methodist Church. Ray survives in Tempe, AZ. Together they raised five children: Martin (Lucy), Sheridan, WY, John (Tara) , Sidney Ohio, TaMarla Forrest, Chandler AZ, Douglas Ray, Celina Ohio, and Donna Jo Adams, Celina, Ohio.

She has 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Rebecca graduated from Celina High School in 1957. She also graduated as a Licensed Practical Nurse from Hamilton Ohio and worked at Our Lady of Mercy Hospital in Coldwater Ohio. She also worked a number of years at the Celina Financial Group. In 1982 Rebecca volunteered in the effort to bring a YMCA to Mercer and Auglaize Counties, becoming the assistant to Layne Scott, the Executive Director.

In 1985 the Adams family relocated to Tempe AZ and she was employed at The Phoenix Zoo in the membership department, leaving after 13 years as Development Coordinator.

During retirement years she and Ray, along with several friends and family members enjoyed two white water rafting trips through the Grand Canyon on the Colorado River. An eleven year commitment was completed with Tempe Police Volunteers, assisting the program coordinator and officers.
