Carl Kill
Carl Joseph Kill, age 89 of Celina, Ohio passed away on Sunday, February 15, 2026 at the St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima, Ohio, with his family at his bedside.
He was born on March 26, 1936 in Spencerville to the late Harold and Bernice (Lauth) Kill. On November 10, 1956 he married Barbara Kay Hoch, who died Oct. 6, 2020.
He is survived by his three children Carla (Rod) Hirschfeld of Celina, Eric (Donna) Kill of Cardington, Jennifer (Chad) Lucht of Pickerington, six grandchildren Greg (Amy) Hirschfeld, Megan Hirschfeld, Matthew (Kayla) Kill, Joshua (McKenzie) Kill, Daniel (Jessica) Kill, Cameron Lucht, three great grandchildren Cooper Kill, Connor Kill and Hudson Hirschfeld. He is also survived by his sister in laws Rosemary Kill of Spencerville and Judy Kill of Olive Branch, Mississippi.
In addition to his wife and parents he is preceded in death by his siblings Pauline (Lavondale) Little, Leonard (Gladys) Kill, Bernard Kill, Lester Kill and Thomas Kill.
Carl attended Spencerville High School. He was formerly employed at Pepsi as a delivery man and retired from Seyferts in 1996. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Celina, the Celina Moose Lodge #1473, he volunteered at The Call Food Pantry and built his own house. Carl enjoyed puzzles, watching the Mariners Collegiate Baseball team, dining at Pullman Bay and The Fountain. He enjoyed riding bikes especially with his grandkids.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday, February 19, 2026 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Celina with Fr. Adam Berning officiating. Carl's wishes were to be cremated and his interment will be held at a later date.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday February 18, 2026 and from 9:00 am to 10:00 am on Thursday February 19, 2026 at the Lehman-Dzendzel Funeral Home in Celina, Ohio.
Memorial contributions may be made to the C.A.L.L. Food Pantry 420 N. Brandon Ave. Celina, Ohio 45822.
