Zachary Dicke
Zachary S. "Zach" Dicke, age 24, of Mendon, Ohio, passed away on Monday, February 17, 2026, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital.
He was born on January 2, 2002, in Van Wert to Scott E. and April R. (Hartman) Dicke. Zach is survived by his loving mother, April R. Dicke of Mendon; his siblings, Haley (McCade Harner) Dicke of Celina, Gavin (Emily Barbuto) Dicke of Bowling Green, and Olivia Dicke of Mendon; his niece, Ellie Dicke; his nephew, Dexten Harner; his maternal grandfather, Jerry (Darla Kovar) Hartman of Van Wert; and many aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his father, Scott E. Dicke; his maternal grandmother, Nellie (Baker) Hartman; and his paternal grandparents, Stanley (Janell Suhr) Dicke.
Zach was a 2021 graduate of Parkway High School. He bravely battled Duchenne muscular dystrophy his entire life, yet he never complained and always maintained a positive outlook that inspired those around him.
He enjoyed playing video games, especially Super Mario Bros., and listening to rap and rock music. Zach loved trying new foods-particularly spicy dishes-telling a good dad joke, and, most of all, spending time with his family. He shared an especially close bond with his mother, who lovingly cared for him throughout his life and was truly his guardian angel.
Zach will be remembered most for his happiness and joyful spirit. He loved everyone around him and had a special way of joking with people that made them smile. He will be deeply missed by his siblings, and the impact he had on their lives will never be forgotten.
A celebration of Zach's life will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at Cisco Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Burns officiating. Friends and family may gather for visitation from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, with a memorial service beginning at 2:00 PM.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Dicke family to honor Zach's memory and support his loved ones during this difficult time.
The Dicke family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all who have offered kindness, prayers, and support throughout Zach's journey. Your love has meant the world to them.
