Samuel Padgett
Samuel Winfred Padgett, age 72, of Celina, Ohio, passed away peacefully at 4:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at his home.
He was born on June 5, 1953, in Crossville, Tennessee, to the late A.G. and Avo (Todd) Padgett.
He is survived by his four brothers, Roy (Wanza) Padgett of Dunkirk, Indiana, Millard Padgett of Florida, John (Sherry) Padgett of Muncie, Indiana, and Van Padgett of Eaton, Indiana; four sisters, Ruth (Minnis) Vaughn of Montgomery, Tennessee, Mary Vaughn of Florida, Trish (Rick) Brosher of Celina, and Ethel Lester of Yorktown, Indiana; as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Sam was preceded in death by his siblings, R.T. Padgett, Don Padgett, Ada Masters, Darlene Padgett, Lee Carl Padgett, Ella Padgett, Della Padgett, A.G. Padgett, Agnes Wooten, and Jimmy Padgett.
Sam was a devoted member of Abounding Grace Ministries in Celina. He was an avid collector of John Deere memorabilia and a proud fan of the Tennessee Volunteers, rarely seen without wearing his orange and white. Above all, Sam had a strong faith in God, a caring heart for others, and a deep love for his family.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at Abounding Grace Ministries, 7495 US 127 North, Celina with Pastor Steve Bratcher, with visitation from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
Private graveside services will be held at Elm Ridge Cemetery in Muncie, Indiana.
Memorial contributions may be made to Abounding Grace Ministries in Celina.
