Terrance Schwieterman
Terrance "Whitey" Schwieterman, age 69 of Coldwater, passed away peacefully on February 25th, 2026 surrounded by family.
Whitey was born on July 11th, 1956 to Orval and Helen (Steinbrunner) Schwieterman. He married Joann (Niekamp) Schwieterman on August 22nd, 1980. They were blessed with three children, daughter Natalie & Patrick Moore & granddaughter Maddie, son Tyler, and daughter Kelly & Jared Korman. He was so proud of all of them.
For those who do not know the story behind his nickname "Whitey", he's been called that since his younger years. One day, when a group of boys were playing baseball in the neighborhood, his mannerisms reminded them of the Cincinnati Reds coach/former infielder Whitey Wietelmann. The boys decided since Wietelmann sounded like Schwieterman, they would call him Whitey.
With a bachelor's degree in business from The Ohio State University and an MBA from Wright State University, he was a CPA who loved number-crunching, fishing, duck hunting, trap & skeet shooting, and baseball. He was an avid fisherman who enjoyed spending long weekends up at Lake Erie with friends, following the Ohio State Buckeyes and St. Louis Cardinals, and spending time with his family. His infectious laugh, beautiful smile, knack for storytelling, positive life pep-talks to his kids, and corny one-liners will be missed by those who had the privilege of knowing him.
He is certainly in heaven having his favorite drink, crown & sprite, while jamming out to his favorite rock tunes with his friends that preceded him.
A private service/celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Ultimately, it was Lewy Body Dementia that took Whitey from us far too soon.
In lieu of flowers & gifts, a memorial fund to support research for a cure has been set up in honor of him -- To contribute to the Lewy Body Dementia Association.
