Janice Bourelle
January 4, 1948 - April 12, 2026
Janice Elaine Bourelle, 78, of Celina, Ohio, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2026.
She was born on January 4, 1948, to Harold and Dottie (Speckman) Monroe, who preceded her in death. Janice lived a life defined by faith, family, friendship, and a love for the simple joys that brought people together.
On April 10, 1999, she married James Bourelle, who preceded her in death on January 8, 2017. Together they shared years filled with love, companionship, and devotion to their blended family.
Janice was a devoted mother to Micheal (Cortney) Neely of Delphos and Mark (Becky) Neely of Wamego, KS. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Logan (Samantha) Brown, Kyra Neely, Truex (Shelby) Neely, Owen Neely, Karleigh Austin, and Cowen Neely. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Sawyer Neely. Her legacy continues through her great-grandchild, Remington Brown, who brought her immense pride and happiness.
She also cherished her stepchildren: Mona (Don) Sams of Celina, Kim (Todd) Morden of Celina; Lindsey (Brett) Gaston of Montezuma: Kyle Bourelle of Auburn, IN; and Stephanie (Alex) Nagy of Morgantown, W.V. Through them, she was blessed with many additional grandchildren whom she loved dearly and who brought her great joy. Family gatherings were especially meaningful to Janice, and she treasured every opportunity to be surrounded by those she loved.
She is also survived by her brother, Dennis (Carol) Monroe of Apex, N.C., and her sister, Marsha (Alan) Pippenger of Dayton, along with extended family members and many dear friends.
A woman of strong faith, Janice was an active member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Elida, Ohio, where she faithfully served as a Sunday School teacher for many years and sang in the church choir. Later, she became a member of Van Wert United Methodist Church in Van Wert, Ohio, continuing her involvement in the choir and her commitment to her church community. Her faith was evident not only in her service but in the kindness, encouragement, and steady presence she offered to those around her.
Janice had a lifelong passion for playing cards, especially bridge, and was always ready for a friendly game filled with laughter and conversation. She also loved golfing, a pastime she enjoyed from a young age, finding both relaxation and friendships on the course. Whether at the card table, on the golf course, or gathered with family, she created memories that will be treasured for generations.
Janice will be remembered for her warm heart, unwavering devotion to her family, and the joy she found in fellowship and faith. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her love and example will remain in the lives of all who knew her.
