Daniel Leonard Jr.
Daniel D. Leonard, Jr., 72, of Celina, Ohio, died Sunday, June 28, 2026, at Tranquility of Rockford, Ohio.
He was born October 9, 1953, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Daniel D and Mary Joan (Whited) Leonard, Sr. He married Laura Ackley on April 4, 1975, at the Salem United Methodist Church in Wapakoneta, and she survives at the residence.
He is also survived by his children: Amanda Kay Hatfield of Celina; Brian (Jennifer) Leonard of Celina; by two grandchildren he and Laura raised, Daycie Hatfield and Loren Marley Hatfield; by his siblings: Cindy (Freddie) Pizana of Ligonier, Indiana; Steve (Ranee) Leonard of Celina; Terry (Rebecca) Leonard of Celina; Debra (Ira) Ralston of Mendon by his brothers-in-law Walter "Spike" (Brenda) Ackley of Saint Marys; Shawn (Kathy) Ackley of Maria Stein; Dave (Penny) Ackley of Saint Marys. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and by 16 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; by his son, Jeremy Leonard; by his sister, Suzanne Leonard; by his granddaughter, Emma Leonard.
Dan was a graduate of Saint Marys Memorial High School. He was a career truck driver, having driven for Moeller Trucking for many years. He loved his job and also working on muscle cars. He enjoyed watching John Wayne western movies and playing chess with his family, fishing and playing pool. He was a member of New Start Community Fellowship in Celina.
He was a veteran of the US Army.
Funeral rites will be held 12:00 noon Friday, July 3, 2026, at New Start Community Fellowship, 700 North Main Street, Celina, Pastor John Mobley, officiant. Burial will follow at Mercer Memory Gardens.
Friends may call from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services on Friday at the church. Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, is entrusted with Dan's funeral arrangements.
