A crew from Tumbusch Construction, St. Henry, tears up the old pavement in the 400 block of Touvelle Street on Friday in anticipation of complete reconstruction of the street between Main Street and Fairground Road. The street east of Mackinaw is closed approximately until September. The street west of Mackinaw will then be closed for a couple of months. The city is spending about $1.2 million on the project, which also includes some underground water and sewer work. Most of the project is being paid for through an Ohio Department of Transportation grant.
