Ruth Henke
Ruth "Esther" Henke, 89, died at 11:06 a.m. July 27, 2006, at Wilson Memorial Hospital, Sidney. She was a resident of Heritage Manor Nursing Center, Minster.
She was born Nov. 2, 1916, in Sidney, to Charles and Ruth H. Carey Setsor. In 1937, she married Russell Monroe, who died in 1941. In 1947, she married Chris Henke, who died in 1980.
Survivors are two sons, Larry Monroe, Barstow, Calif., and Tom (Carol), Minster; a sister, Sadie Wilges, Sidney; a sister-in-law, Betty Prescott, Sidney; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a brother, Emerson Setsor; and a sister, Erline Pauley.
She owned and operated the former Henke's Religious Gift Shop from 1958 to 1970. She worked several years until retiring at G&W Tool and Die, Fort Loramie, and was previously employed at Fort Loramie Cast Stone Products. She was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Newport.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church, the Rev. Steven Shoup officiating. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery, Sidney.
Calling is 3-7 p.m. Sunday and 9-10 a.m. Monday at Gehret Funeral Home, Fort Loramie.
Contributions can be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
