Josephine Samples
Former Rockford and Van Wert resident, Josephine E. Samples, 90, died at 7:47 a.m. July 28, 2006, at Celina Manor Nursing Home.
She was born May 28, 1916, in Mercer County, to Joseph and Clarice Mann Schaadt.
Surviving are two grandchildren, Debra (Theodore) Torge and Chuck (Lynn) Samples, all of Celina; and two great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a son, Larry; a brother, Edgar Schaadt; and a sister Dee Vogt.
She was a beautician and a musician. She was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Rockford. Other memberships included, Van Wert Women of the Moose and Van Wert American Legion Auxiliary.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Monday at Lehman-Hogenkamp-Dzendzel Funeral Home, Celina, the Rev. Jerry Flueckiger officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery, Rockford.
Calling is 2-6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Contributions can be made to Celina Area Visiting Nurses and Hospice or the Cancer Association of Mercer County.
