Firefighters check out an overturned car following a crash at 8:50 a.m. Aug. 22 along U.S. 33, east of Hayes Road. The driver, 19-year-old Cassandra Ann Hockenberry of New Haven, Ind., lost control of the westbound 1991 Oldsmobile. It traveled through the ditch striking a large rock and a concrete culvert. Hockenberry was taken by ambulance to Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in St. Marys, while her heavily damaged vehicle required the services of a tow truck.
