The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

At 519 PM EDT, a strong thunderstorm was located over Waynesfield, moving northeast at 10 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 45 mph and very heavy rain.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Visibility will be poor and hydroplaning is possible.
Locations impacted include... Alger, Waynesfield, Roundhead, Mcguffey, Silver Creek, Jumbo, New Hampshire, Walton, and State Route 195 at State Route 235.
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a sturdy building.
Motorists should slow down and use extra caution.

Carl Meinerding, Jr.
Carl H. "Buckwheat" Meinerding, Jr., 50, Versailles, died Sept. 13, 2006, at 12:50 p.m. at Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton.
He was born Feb. 20, 1956, in Fort Wayne, Ind. to Carl H. and Iris J. Overly Meinerding. On Sept. 10, 1994, he was married in St. Denis Catholic Church, Versailles, to Paula Subler, who survives.
Surviving is a son, Jeremy, at home; five brothers and their spouses, David, of Texas; Gerald (Patty), Bryant, Ind.; Robert (Elizabeth) and Ronald, all of Portland, Ind., Richard (Sharon), of Indiana; and his mother-in-law, Clara Subler, Versailles.
He was preceded in death by his parents and father-in-law, Edward Subler.
He was project manager for Terasen Utility Company in Milwaukee, Wisc. and formerly worked at J-Tech in Greenville for over 20 years. He was a member of St. Denis Catholic Church, Versailles, the Moose Lodge and Fraternal Order of the Eagles, all of Greenville.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Sept., 23 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Denis Catholic Church, the Rev. David Vincent officiating. Burial will be in Holy Family Church Cemetery, Frenchtown.
Calling is Friday, 2-8 p.m. and Saturday, 9-10 a.m. at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home, Versailles.
Contributions may be made to the Jeremy Meinerding Trust Fund set up at the Versailles Savings & Loan.
