Albert Knapke
Albert L. Knapke, 88, 3991 state Route 219, Coldwater, died at 3:10 p.m. Oct. 29, 2006, at Briarwood Manor Nursing Home, Coldwater.
He was born Oct. 14, 1918, in Coldwater, to John and Elizabeth Bruns Knapke. On Oct. 23, 1946, he married Dorothy Wenning, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Marvin (Terri), Coldwater; a daughter, Linda (Ralph) Higby, Zanesville; a sister-in-law, Victoria, Coldwater; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Deceased are four brothers, Norbert, Roman, Leo and Lawrence; two sisters, Helen Balster and Eleanor Saalman; and a great-grandchild.
He was a farmer and member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 3025 and Knights of Columbus Council 1991, all of Coldwater.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church, the Rev. Daniel Schmitmeyer officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Wednesday and 9-10 a.m. Thursday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater.
